DPS makes gains in enrollment and scores

Susana Cordova, Chief Academic Office for Denver Public Schools, spent an evening with Denver Kids, Inc. to talk about successes and challenges in student development and the role that our programs has on an individual student. Ms. Cordova has been with DPS since 1989. As Chief Academic Officer, she oversees all academic development and programs in the District including teacher training, student assessment, textbook selection, and program evaluations. Denver Kids, Inc. Student Selected as First Dawkins/Post Awardee

At the Broncos first home game of the 2010 regular season, Denver Kids, Inc. student, Elijah Ruff was honored as the first Brian Dawkins/Denver Post Award winner. 

Elijah as been with Denver Kids, Inc. since 2002, working with the same educational counselor the entire time - Tom Crane.  Now a Junior at George Washington High School, Elijah is excelling in school and sports.

June 14th - Sign up to golf 100 holes in the 2010 Golf Marathon

Over $27,000 raised by Team Denver Kids, Inc. 2010 Colfax Marathon runners!

On May 16, 2010, 84 runners and 25 volunteers represented Team Denver Kids, Inc. in the Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon.  The participating of these runners and volunteers enabled us to surpass all of our marathon goals - including raised more than our fundraising goal of $25,000!  Amazing!  Thank you to everyone that made this possible - runners, volunteers, donors, and staff!

Abundant Holiday Season

During the 2009 holiday season, Denver Kids, Inc. saw an amazing outpouring of generosity from the community.  Many of our families enjoyed Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas presents - things that a large number of our families often go without. Read more »

Friendship Campaign

In November 2009, we embarked on our annual Friendship Campaign.

Over the years, the Friendship Campaign has represented our community’s willingness to invest in our children and the city of Denver.  Continually, the Denver Kids, Inc. community has loyally responded when asked to join us in our quest to fundamentally transform educational opportunities for our children. Branch Rickey Fundraiser

On November 14, 2009, the Rotary Club of Denver honored Torii Hunter of the Los Angeles Angels for his exceptional community service during his time in Major League Baseball with the Branch Rickey Award.  Along with recognizing Mr. Hunter, the attendees donated $5,950 to Denver Kids, Inc.
