Mentoring

Denver Kids, Inc. recruits and trains adult volunteers to serve as mentors to our students. Activities, special events and educational programs are provided throughout the year for the mentors and students. Each Denver Kids, Inc. mentor commits to the program for one year and agrees to see the student twice a month. The professional counseling staff works closely with each mentor - providing them with expertise and guidance.

Currently, over 30% of our students are matched with Denver Kids, Inc. mentors.  The average tenure of a mentor match is 4.5 years. In 2011-2012, 367 Denver Kids, Inc. mentors volunteered 52,848 hours of service to our students.
