On November 14, 2009, the Rotary Club of Denver honored Torii Hunter of the Los Angeles Angels for his exceptional community service during his time in Major League Baseball with the Branch Rickey Award.  Along with recognizing Mr. Hunter, the attendees donated $5,950 to Denver Kids, Inc. to purchase graduation outfits for our 2010 high school graduates.  We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to those supporters.   Many of our students cannot afford to purchase clothes to be worn in celebration of their graduation so this is a tremendous gift – particularly in light of the enormous accomplishment this is for many of our students.
